Our goals are:
- to use state-of-the-art molecular genetics and genomics tools to study complex genetic disease, physiological variation and genetic diversity in equine populations.
- to generate knowledge that will enable veterinarians to better predict, diagnose, and treat disease.
- to improve the health of companion animals, livestock, and humans through the use of the horse as a biomedical model.
- to engage in collaborative research efforts with other researchers, veterinarians, and horse owners to address relevant needs of the equine community.
